RACCA industry breakfast

RACCA’s 2019 NSW U&E ITAB Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry Breakfast is being held at the Bankstown Sports Club in Sydney on March 20.

The event has been organised by the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Contractors Association (RACCA) and the Industry Training Advisory Bodies (ITAB). Invited speakers will discuss training and other initiatives that could help solve the skills shortage.

Representatives of Training Services NSW will talk about fee-free apprenticeships, how to access Smart and Skilled funding, updates to the Apprenticeship and Traineeship Act, and how to get involved with school-based apprenticeships and traineeships.

There will be information on the new Regional Industry Education Partnerships (RIEP) initiative. This looks to strengthen connections between local industry and secondary schools.

Representatives of the NSW Utilities and Electrotechnology ITABs – including the new ITAB Executive Officer – will be on hand to answer questions about industry training.

And representatives of the Electrotechnology IRC and the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning TAC will talk about the latest developments with the national training package. Time has also been set aside for questions.

“We’ve taken on board many comments that were made in our annual industry survey results,” says RACCA.

“This breakfast event is organised with the intention of informing our members and those working in our profession at large of the latest industry news – particularly around updates to the training packages and the ongoing shortage of suitable apprentices, which we feel is of interest to many.”
