ACADS-BSG finds new owner

Building services software developer ACADS-BSG has found new ownership. The 38-year-old tech firm is now in the hands of Peter Glodic.

Founded in 1981, ACADS-BSG is a building services software developer that provides building professionals with technological tools to design and check building services such as air conditioning for both new and existing buildings.

More than 500 companies currently use ACADS-BSG software, which includes programs such as Camel, Koala, Python, Beaver, Hyena, Sprink, and Wombat. The software is used in many countries, including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Papua New Guinea and North America.

ACADS-BSG founders Murray Mason, L.AIRAH, and Trevor Kingston, M.AIRAH, will be staying on board with the business until mid-2020 to ensure a seamless transition.

“We have enjoyed the last 38 years, but we are both at stages in our lives where we are ready to move on, and have found the right people to carry on our work,” Mason says.

“We are incredibly grateful to all of our users and supporters, and whilst it is a little sad to be moving on, we are both equally excited and comfortable with the vision Peter has for the continuation of the business.

“I know Trevor keeps talking about doing more fishing, and I have a Masters Basketball World Cup to play in Finland, so that will keep us busy in the short term that’s for sure.”

Glodic says that the chance to carry on the legacy of the company represents an exciting opportunity.

“What Murray and Trevor have built over the last four decades is incredible,” Glodic says.

“Our immediate focus is on improving our software programs to enhance the user experience, and to distribute more educational information and resources.”
