Ian Eitzen appointed new Condair MD

Condair Pty Ltd has announced the appointment of Ian Eitzen to Managing Director. He succeeds Kevin Cronin, who will retire at the end of June.

As Condair’s National Business Development Manager, Eitzen has been responsible for the continued market development of the company’s commercial and industrial humidification and in-duct evaporative cooling business across Australia. He has over 30 years’ experience in the HVAC&R industry, including more than 15 years with Johnson Controls in Sydney.

Since joining Condair, he has worked closely with Cronin and the team to develop existing relationships with consultants and contractors as well as growing the business into new markets.

“It is an honour to take over the reins from Kevin, who founded the business in 2001 under the name of Aireven.  He has developed the organisation to be Australia’s leading humidity control company,” Eitzen says.

“Condair has recently extended its catalogue to include a wide range of dehumidifiers, covering both desiccant and refrigerant systems, which offers significant opportunities. Humidification is also especially relevant at the moment given the increased focus on maintaining the optimal indoor air quality for building occupant health. Something that humidification systems play an integral role in during the dry winter months.”

As the owner of Aireven, Cronin was instrumental in building up the company’s position in the Australian market for industrial and commercial humidification and evaporative cooling. The Condair Group acquired Aireven on July 1, 2018.

“I feel now is the right time to step down, with Condair Pty Ltd being in such a strong market position. With his extensive HVAC experience, enthusiasm and drive, Ian is the ideal person to lead the company forward and continue its expansion and growth in all fields of humidity control and evaporative cooling,” Cronin says.
