Calling refrigeration apprentices

Woolworths is seeking refrigeration apprentices to join its 2024 training program and help meet the organisation’s 2025 sustainability targets.

Woolworths says it is committed to building diversity and inclusion within the refrigeration industry.

“We are committed to supporting the refrigeration industry to build greater diversity and inclusion for the ‘fridgies’ of tomorrow,” says the company. “To do this we are rolling out a multi-year plan to hire outstanding apprentices each year to fulfil these goals.”

The apprenticeship program runs across four years, working with the facilities management or installation division, depending on location.

These divisions oversee the installation, energy management and maintenance of refrigeration, heating and cooling systems to ensure Woolworths stores and produce are in optimum condition for customers.

The program includes eight weeks of formal training at TAFE per year for the first three years, with the final year of the apprenticeship learning full time on the job.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to gain experience with the latest global refrigeration technologies, build environmentally sustainable refrigeration systems and learn from experts in the field.

The apprenticeship programs will be available in Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.
